Axie Infinity will be co-hosting a hackathon with Matic Network, MakerDAO and Binance Labs from October 5th-6th!
Web 3 is all about collaborative and permission-less building and we believe hackathons are a great way to introduce more people to the Axie Universe. This is an experiment that we’ll use to test our dev tooling so we can scale up to larger hackathons in the future. It’s also been a great way to create relationships with other strong projects in the Blockchain industry!
The hackathon will be both physical and virtual, so you can participate no matter where you are in the world! We’ve announced it with just over a week remaining to ensure people have limited ability to prepare too much in advance!

What is Axie Infinity?
Axie Infinity is a digital pet universe where anyone can earn tokens through skilled gameplay and contributions to the ecosystem. Players can battle, collect, raise, and even build a land-based kingdom for their Axies. In addition, all art assets & Axie genetic data can be easily accessed by 3rd parties allowing community developers to build their own tools & experiences in the Axie universe.
Hackathon Schedule
The Hackathon will last 40 hours.
Agenda (IST):
- October 5th: 8 AM Start.
- October 6th: 11 PM Submission Deadline.
Prize Pool
The Axie, Matic, and MakerDAO teams have created a prize pool worth $3,400!
Projects that incorporate tech from each project will be eligible for a slice of the rewards. For example, a project that uses Axie + Matic tech would be eligible for both LUNA and Matic token rewards. You can recruit team members to go for the prizes!
7500 LUNA (750$)
2000 $ of Matic token (must incorporate Matic Network technology).
650 DAI (must incorporate DAI).
Here are some ideas to spark your creativity:
- Betting: Bet on the outcome of a Axie battle in a trust-less way using DAI on Matic
- Axie marketplace on Matic: Allow people to sell their Axies on Matic Network
- Meta TX: Allow players to spend any Kyber/Uniswap-supported ERC20 on fees within Axie
- Fractional ownership: Allow multiple addresses to own parts of an Axie on Matic Network.
- Matic developer tutorial using Axie as NPCS to explain (eligible for Matic rewards)
