What is the determinant of NFT mass adoption? How to maintain user loyalty?
Mary Ma believes that the user characteristics of each product are different, so each product is widely spread for different reasons. Dego is a financial product that focuses on gamification. What users pursue is the rate of return and the functionality of the NFT itself. The Dego team has done a good job in publishing and operation. MEME users are mainly interested in creative and cultural products. Therefore, MEME has done a good job in community co-creation and cultural identity. For digital artworks, users are concerned about the artist’s background, creative ability, and whether the product itself has IP blessing.
At present, the loyalty of blockchain users is low, and the attention of users is changing very quickly. However, on long-term operation, users will gradually form loyalty to the brand and the content they create. Decentralized community autonomy can also cultivate user loyalty to a certain extent.
Difficulties of “NFT+Game” in the underlying technology or ecology
Regarding the underlying technology: If a certain NFT application itself is based on Ethereum, the low efficiency and high gas fee of Ethereum are the biggest limitations. Because the NFT contract itself is larger than the FT contract. This wave of DeFi has made Ethereum’s gas fee very high, and NFT is even more so. So it is difficult for users to use an application at such a high threshold.
Regarding the protocol layer: The current NFT protocols are the most basic protocols, such as casting and transfer, but more advanced protocols such as how to find the value of NFT more effectively, there is currently no consensus in the industry.
Therefore, when the bottom layer and industry consensus are not perfect, it is difficult for the industry to produce rich applications. Without these rich applications to attract all kinds of users, let alone the ecology.
This is talking about ecological issues from a macro level, but there are still opportunities to succeed in certain vertical fields, but this success may not be the large-scale Dapp application we expect for the time being.
How to build distinctive NFT products
